If your phone can display a small number of colors, shades of gray, or just black and white images, set the Color reduction:
- 256 colors - necessary for GIF images, but you can also apply for PNG and BMP,
- grayscale - 256 shades,
- 4 shades of gray - when the display has only such a possibility,
- black and white - for older phones that support graphics in WBMP format.
Reducing colors reduces file size, but also distorts the picture. To get graphics closest to the original, use Color dithering. The effect depends on the type of photos - try the available algorithms (Floyd Steinberg, Stucki, Sierra, Jarvis, Judice & Ninke, Stevenson & Arche, Burkes).
