If you use a computer with other people, each of them can learn a lot about what you do online, what you search, what documents you open and save, etc. In addition, some data stored by the browser or e.g. by Flash animations, can be used to spy your behavior on the Internet.

Able Search can protect your privacy by clearing a lot of unnecessary personal data stored by many programs. Select Tools ->  Clear Private Data.

Clear disk cache - Internet Explorer stores in the disk "memory" (so called cache), majority of downloaded files - web pages, pictures, flash animations etc. The cache speeds up browsing - when for example a picture is needed again, the browser does not have to download it from the Internet. It is available on your local disk.

On the other hand, the cache contains most of the pages you visited and other computer users can easily view what you do on the Internet.

To view the contents of the browser cache or delete part of the data, click in Able Search  Tools ->  Manage private data.

Clear browser history - Internet Explorer saves addresses of visited web pages. They are used for example to auto-complete typed addresses. You can easily view and delete the browsing history. NOTE: This history also contains files opened and saved in all programs - not only in Internet Explorer.

Clear typed URLs - Internet Explorer stores in the registry 25 addresses typed in the address field. They are visible after expanding the list of addresses. You can view them and delete in Able Search - click on  Tools ->  Manage private data.

Clear cookies. Cookies are short information saved by a web server on your disk. They are used for example to log on to websites (such as your e-mail). Unfortunately, some cookies are used to track your behavior on the Internet. It is worth to delete cookies sometimes, but then you can be logged out of a website. To view cookies and delete some of them, click in Able Search:  Tools ->  Manage private data.

Clear Flash cookies - similar to "normal" cookies, but used only by Macromedia Flash (SWF) animations. Flash cookies can store much more data.

Clear persistent userData - Internet Explorer introduced an additional mechanism for storing data on your computer by web servers. It is called userdata persistence. These data can be read only by a page which saved them. They are used to identify an user, to save certain settings, etc.

Clear search history. Able Search remembers searched phrases, for example to make easier highlighting the search term on the page or to find again the same or similar content.

Clear recent documents menu - Windows stores the history of opened and saved files. It is available by clicking on Start -> Documents. NOTE: These filenames are also stored in the browser history. You can view them and delete in Able Search - click  Tools ->  Manage private data -> Visited URLs.

Clear Windows temporary files. Some programs need to save data on the disk - so-called temporary files. Each program should delete these files. Unfortunately, they are often left and unnecessarily take place on your disk. Able Search can delete temporary files.

Clear clipboard - when you copied (e.g. with Ctrl+C) some text or other data to the Windows clipboard.

Empty Recycle Bin. When you delete files on disks, they can be placed in the system trash. If you are sure that you no longer need deleted files, you can empty the trash and free disk space.
