Able Search can verify the authenticity and correctness of SSL certificates.

There are SSL certificate information in the address bar. This can help you to find that you use encrypted connection and to check is reliability.


When a server has a false or invalid certificate, Able Search notifies you and shows icon in the address bar.

You visit most of the websites using HTTP protocol. Unfortunately, all the data that you receive and send (e.g. passwords), can be easily viewed, either by your Internet service provider, someone from the neighborhood or even from a distant location. To protect data confidence, some servers provide encrypted HTTPS connections, which cannot be “listened in”.

It often happens, that servers imitating e.g. a bank, offer encrypted connection (HTTPS) to be more reliable and to cheat victims easier. Fortunately, each HTTPS server needs a so-called SSL certificate.

SSL certificates are encrypted identifiers issued by trusted institutions. They aim is to protect and to make reliable encrypted connections with banks, shops, email services, etc.

You can turn off SSL certificate checking by clicking  Tools -> Options -> Security.
