On this tab in the main window you can run tasks. AbleGet searches and downloads MP3 and "normal" files. It's recommended to increase speed of your Internet conection chosing from main menu Optimize Internet speed. From the toolbar or from menu you can choose:
New - opens a dialog where you can set a new task.
Run - starts selected tasks. When necessery AbleGet dials with modem to your ISP. You can enable this function on Options dialog. Dialing status is shown at the top of Info panel. AbleGet may also disconnect dial-up connections and turn off computer when all tasks will be finished.
NOTE: tasks may be started automatically at program startup. You should set "Start immediately at program startup" at Properties - Schedule and "Start automatic tasks immediately" at Options - Schedule.
Stop - stops selected tasks. You may use this function to stop dialing with modem. Select all tasks (Ctrl-A) and press Stop.
Disable/Enable - enables or disables running. Disabled tasks will NOT be started in any way.
Properties - displays properties for selected task. Some properties are set for each task individually, and some are set for all tasks from Options dialog.
Go to disk location - shows on the Local tab downloaded file (for downloads only).
Add to favorites - adds selected tasks to Favorites.
Load task list - loads tasks from a file. You can open a file in normal text format or special AbleGet file.
Save task list - saves selected tasks to a file. You can export them to normal text file or in AbleGet format. It's recommended to use AbleGet files, because they contain ALL necessery options. There is only saved a short list with web location (downloads), file name (file search) or MP3 query (MP3 search) in text files.
Schedule - opens schedule dialog, allowing to (not) start all selected tasks at the same time. You can also set start time and other options for each task with the properties dialog and for all tasks from main menu Tools - Options - Schedule.
Copy URL - copies to clipboard web location for downloaded file.
Delete - deletes selected tasks.
Some icons can be placed on the list near each task:
- this task is a download,
- this task is an upload,
- file search task,
- MP3 search task,
- a task is running,
- this task is waiting, eg. for Internet connection,
- a task is scheduled and will start later,
- this task was scheduled but didn't start or didn't finish,
- disabled task - it will not run until you enable it,
- task with this icon can be started automatically at program startup. You should also check in main menu Tools - Automatically run tasks.
- some properties for this task are invalid. Correct them double-clicking this item or pressing Alt-Enter.
- an error occured during running a task. Description is usually available on Info panel.
All succesfully finished tasks are moved to Finished tab.
