Main menu - Tools - Options - FTP
Maximal number of simultaneous connection with a server - usually you should set it to 1. If you have a fast Internet connection, the remote server is fast and allows multiple logins from the same IP, you can increase this value.
Passive mode - check this box if the remote server requires passive FTP mode (usually it's not necessary).
Firewall / proxy server
Use proxy server - check this box if you are behind a proxy or firewall. It's good to use a caching proxy, because it usually increases download speed.
Use &HTTP proxy - select this option to use proxy parameters entered on the HTTP page.
Server - address of your proxy.
Port - port of your proxy.
User, Password - specify username and password if the proxy requires authorisation.
Type proxy, socks 4, socks 4A, socks 5 - there are several types of FTP firewalls. If you are not sure - try to download a file with different firewall types.
For more details you should contact your network administrator or ISP.
Treat as text files during transfer
The list shows what files are transfered in ASCII mode from FTP servers. All non-text files (ZIP, EXE etc.) MUST be downloaded in binary mode, so do not put on the list e.g. *.zip. You can use wildcards e.g. *.txt. Click here to learn the syntax used on the list.
Add, Set, Delete - use these buttons to change the list.
NOTE: All options with
