You can change search engines used for searching for files and MP3 in Searching and MP3 search options. Select an engine and press Edit... button.
A dialog is shown and you can change:
Server - address of a search engine (eg. http://www.MySearchEngine.com).
Maximal results per page - how many results per page an engine can return. If you are not sure, set it eg. to 10.
Compatible with FtpSearch - there are many engines based on FtpSearch algorithm developed in Norway. They have the same queries, which are known by AbleGet. Usually the search page is similar to http://download.lycos.com/swadv/AdvResults.asp?form=advanced. ONLY these engines are used to search for files with Search type different from Exact search.
Search queries... - you should write here search queries used by an engine. To do it you should:
1. Open in your web browser an address of a search engine.
2. In the Search or similar field on the web page write a short phrase. If it's a file search engine you can use e.g. setup.zip and for MP3 search - John.
3. Press Search or similar button on the page and wait for results.
4. Copy (Ctrl-C) from your web browser Location field the address. It looks e.g. like this: http://www.MySearchEngine.com/query=setup.zip&doit=Search
5. Switch to AbleGet and in Search queries... field paste the address (Ctrl-V).
6. Remowe the address of a search engine (http://www.MySearchEngine.com) from the beginning of pasted text.
7. Replace phrase used for searching (setup.zip or John) with an asterisk ( * ).
If the engine has Next or similar button or link on the page you can click it and repeat steps 4..7. Each query should be placed in a new line!
Comments - you can write some notes about this engine.
