Main menu - Tools - Options - Downloads
When resuming broken connection roll back N bytes - when you download a file and the connection is closed then AbleGet can resume it - download only the rest of the file. Sometimes the last bytes of already downloaded part can be damaged, so AbleGet can download them again. You can set this option to 100 - 300.
When the starting adress doesn't exist, try to search and ask, which file to download - it's very convinient opton. AbleGet can find alternate addresses for a file and then you can easy choose one of them and download the file. This option is useful when the filename is rather unique - for example AbleGet.zip. But e.g. setup.exe is very common name, so when you don't know the size of this file, it's difficult to find the right one.
Check if the files exists - AbleGets checks all search results - if they exist, file size, and if the server supports resuming. Remember, that it takes time.
Remove nonexisting - all files that do not exists (or e.g. server doesn't allow to login) are removed.
Monitoring
AbleGet can automatically start downloads when you put a valid web address in the clipboard (Monitor clipboard option) or click on a link in your browser. AbleGet brings itself to the front of other windows and shows a new task dialog. When you close this dialog, your browser window is brought to front.
Monitor clicks in browser (Alt-Click to disable) - you can download a file in your browser when you hold Alt while clicking on a link.
IE 5.01 or later - AbleGet can monitor clicks in Internet Explorer from version 5.01.
Netscape 4.xx - all versions of Netscape up to 4.xx works. Netscape 6.xx is not supported.
Get HTTP Referer URL from browser - some HTTP servers requires referer address - address of a page linking to downloaded file. Servers can refuse downloads when referer is empty or points to another domain.
