Alternate URLs / Search results |
The
list shows
- alternate URLs (addresses) for downloads - another
locations where the file can be found. It's recommended to enable
Search for alternate URLs when
necessary, because AbleGet finds another locations for the file
and can automatically choose the fastest and resuming server.
-
search results for file or MP3 search.
Using the edit field
above the list you can
- add new addresses pressing
Add button,
- change an address and then press
Set button,
-
Disable or Enable selected addresses. The same function
you can do with single items on the list clicking their checkboxes,
- remove selected addresses with
Delete button.
Syntax of an web address:
protocol://[user[:password]@]server[:port]/path
user,
password and port are optional.
For example if you
download file ableget.zip from server http://www.AbleGet.com
and the server requires username user-abc and password 123,
and the server uses port 8080 your web address should be:
http://user-abc:123@www.AbleGet.com:8080/ableget.zip
Most
servers do not require user and password and work on default "normal"
port, so it's enough to enter
http://www.AbleGet.com/ableget.zip
Add to running - opens New task
dialog - you can start downloading file selected on the list.
Go to search page - if an URLs was found by a search engine,
pages from it are saved on your disk in search-XXX
subdirectory. The page is opened in default browser.
Search for more - on the Running tab you can search for more
alternate URLs for a downloaded file.
Check addresses - AbleGet checks each enabled address - if the
file exists, its size and resuming ability. Remember, that it takes
time and for download tasks is made automatically when necessary.
Ping addresses - pings all enabled addresses. Usually the
lower ping time the faster server is. If a server doesn't respond N/A
is placed on the list. It means that the server doesn't work or it is
very slow or it does not want to answer (it may be very fast!).
Load list - loads the list of URLs from a text file.
Save list - saves the list of URLs to a text file.
