MP3 Options |
|
These options affect compressing WAV and audio ripping (if compression to MP3 is selected). Currently AbleBurn uses external compressor – Lame – due to patent issues. Full internal MP3 support is planned (after buying MP3 license – please support) e.g. recording audio CDs directly from MP3, better MP3 repairing and decompression. Lame.exe location – specify where lame is located on your disk. Output folder – there will be MP3 files stored. You can select the same as input file or use one folder for all files. Compression – here you should select compression method. Following presets are available: Highest - CBR 320 kbps – this is the highest quality available, but also the biggest MP3 file size. 320 kbps, constant bitrate. Very high - VBR about 250 kbps – variable bitrate, a bit lower quality (and file size) but you'll never hear the difference. High - VBR about 190 kbps – variable bitrate about 190 kbps. Normal - ABR 128 kbps – use this option e.g. To car audio equipment or for film sound. Low - ABR 96 kbps – rather suitable only for film sound or speech.
Following three compression methods let you customize settings. Please first read Lame documentation. Variable bitrate – VBR – Quality as high as possible. You can control it using Min and Max bitrate. Final bitrate and file size is unknown before compression. Average bitrate – ABR – it's also VBR compression but average bitrate will be exactly as specified. Constant bitrate – CBR – not recommended. User defined – here you can totally control Lame.
Faster but lower quality – in VBR modes alternative compression method is applied. Much faster but quality slightly lower (rather unhearable).
Output frequency – sound frequency in MP3 file. For music use the same as input or 44.1 (44 100 Hz) – this value is used in audio CDs. Speech and lower quality sound may be compressed with lower frequencies. For example 24 kHz in MP3 gives max hearable frequency 12 kHz (half of 24 kHz).
Stereo / mono – recommended modes are auto or joint stereo.
Write comment – here you can put additional message (text) written in MP3 tags.
You can also Use LAME.EXE additional command line options that will be added to other necessary settings.
