This function allows compressing WAV files (big) to MP3 format that occupies less disk space. Currently AbleBurn uses external compressor – Lame – due to patent issues. Full internal MP3 support is planned (please support) e.g. recording audio CDs directly from MP3, better MP3 repairing and decompression.

Select from menu Tools – Compress WAV and drop WAV files on the list. Compression method, quality and output directory can be set selecting from main menu Tools – Options – MP3. MP3 files are created in the same folder that corresponding WAV or all can be placed in one specific directory. Click button to start compression. When you copy audio CD MP3 can be created automatically.
